DocketSync is built by an attorney, for attorneys. We take your data and your clients' data seriously. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is protected.
DocketSync is a web-based legal productivity application operated by Thomas C. Thomasian, Esq. ("we," "us," or "our"), located at 72 Pine Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02903. You may contact us at tct@thomasianlaw.com.
When you create a DocketSync account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store your password in plain text.
When you upload a PDF from the Rhode Island Judiciary Public Portal, DocketSync processes the text of that document to extract hearing information including client names, docket numbers, court dates, courtrooms, and hearing types. This data is processed to generate your calendar and ready subject emails. We store your published calendar events in our database so your subscription feed can be served to your calendar application.
If you choose to connect your Gmail account, DocketSync uses Google OAuth to obtain a refresh token that allows us to create draft emails on your behalf. We store this refresh token securely in your user account record. We use it only to create Gmail drafts as directed by you. We do not read your existing emails, contacts, or any other Gmail data. You may disconnect Gmail at any time by contacting us or through your Google Account permissions page.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. We may collect basic server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) for security and debugging purposes. These logs are not shared with third parties and are retained for no more than 90 days.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4.
DocketSync uses the following third-party services to operate:
DocketSync processes court appearance data that may include client names and case numbers. This information is sourced from publicly accessible court records on the Rhode Island Judiciary Public Portal. We treat all data processed through DocketSync with strict confidentiality and do not disclose it to any party other than those necessary to operate the service as described in this policy.
You are responsible for ensuring your use of DocketSync complies with your professional obligations under the Rhode Island Rules of Professional Conduct, including rules governing confidentiality and the use of technology in legal practice.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Gmail refresh tokens are stored encrypted in your user record. We use industry-standard security practices and rely on Supabase's SOC 2 compliant infrastructure for data storage.
Your account data and calendar events are retained as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and wish to have your data deleted, contact us at tct@thomasianlaw.com and we will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at tct@thomasianlaw.com. We will respond within 30 days.
